What are Different Methods of Teeth Whitening at Albius?

Aesthetic procedures in dentistry become more and more popular. Tooth whitening is one of the most demanded.

Teeth can be whitened using trays or light. In both cases, the whitening gel is used which contains an active ingredient - hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. Oxygen released from the gel interacts with enamel and destroys the pigmentation. The difference between these methods of tooth whitening is the gel concentration and duration of the process. Changing these two components allows control of the whitening process and teeth may be lightened for 3 to 8 shades.

What Happens During Professional Teeth Whitening?

When the tray technique is used, the dentist takes an impression and sends it to the lab. Two transparent trays are prepared by the lab - for the upper and for the lower jaw. The trays and the whitening gel are given to the patient. The dentist provides thorough instructions for use and the schedule of wearing the trays which you should be followed strictly during the whitening process.

The in-office whitening technique is much faster and it takes only one appointment to achieve the result.

At Albius Dental Center we use laser tooth whitening with Fläsh System. Fläsh light assisted tooth whitening system is the fastest form of tooth whitening. Fläsh is the latest development of WHITEsmile, based on over 20 years of experience in tooth whitening, made in Germany.

Before the procedure gums are covered with light-curing substances to protect them. Then the whitening gel is applied to the teeth and activated by the laser. After penetration in the enamel, active ingredients destroy the pigmentations and the teeth appear several shades lighter in 30-40 minutes. In the end, teeth are covered with fluoride varnish to prevent sensitivity. The doctor will recommend a “white diet” for a week or two which means avoiding colored food and drinks until the color is stabilized.

They are commonly used for smile makeover to get the so-called “Hollywood Smile”. It allows changing the shape, size, color, and position of the tooth with minimal loss of tooth structure. The veneer is a perfect way to correct cracked, stained, or damaged enamel. Also, it’s easy to use veneers to close the gaps between teeth by making them wider or even slightly change the alignment. For this purpose in some cases, it can be an alternative to orthodontic treatment.

A veneer is a thin plate that is fixed onto the front surface of the tooth.

High-quality materials and doctor’s professionalism make veneers aesthetically effective and durable. With adequate maintenance and oral care, your smile will keep its charm and beauty for a long time.
